Description
A quick and easy breakfast hack using store-bought biscuit dough to create crispy, pillowy beignets in the air fryer without the mess of deep frying.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tube refrigerated biscuit dough (6–8 biscuits)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for 3-5 minutes.
- Slice each biscuit in half or quarters, depending on desired size.
- In a shallow bowl, mix the melted butter and vanilla extract (if using).
- Toss the biscuit pieces in the butter mixture until fully coated.
- In a separate small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll the butter-coated dough pieces in the cinnamon sugar mixture until evenly coated.
- Place the coated dough pieces in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not crowded.
- Cook for 6-8 minutes, checking at 6 minutes, until golden brown and puffed.
- Remove from the air fryer while hot and immediately dust generously with powdered sugar.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
Do not overcrowd the basket to ensure proper air circulation. Preheating is essential to prevent sticking and ensure a crispy exterior. Sugar burns quickly, so check early if your air fryer runs hot. For a double coating, drop hot beignets into the powdered sugar bowl.
