Game Day Beer Cheese Bloody Mary

  • Author: Luciana
  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

A creamy, savory, and spicy twist on the classic Bloody Mary, featuring chunky beer cheese for a rich, malty flavor profile perfect for game day hosting.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 34 tablespoons beer cheese (chunky, sharp cheddar-based)
  • 6 ounces tomato juice (high quality, no added sugar)
  • 2 ounces vodka (plain, unflavored)
  • 12 ounces lager or pilsner beer (cold)
  • 1 dash Worcestershire sauce
  • 12 dashes hot sauce (e.g., Frank’s RedHot or Tabasco)
  • 1/2 teaspoon prepared horseradish (drained)
  • Pinch of freshly cracked black pepper
  • Celery salt or salt/pepper mix for rimming
  • Garnish: Celery stick, cheddar cheese cube, olives, crispy bacon strip

Instructions

  1. Prep garnishes: Cut celery sticks, cook bacon until crispy, and skewer olives with cheddar cubes if desired.
  2. Rim the highball glass: Run a lime wedge around the rim and dip into celery salt or salt/pepper mix.
  3. Add beer cheese: Scoop 3-4 tablespoons of beer cheese into the bottom of the glass. Let it soften slightly if cold.
  4. Add liquids: Pour in vodka, then beer, followed by tomato juice.
  5. Season and stir: Add Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, horseradish, and black pepper. Stir vigorously for 30 seconds until the cheese is fully emulsified and the drink is creamy orange.
  6. Add ice and garnish: Fill with ice cubes. Insert celery stick, rest cheddar/olive skewer on rim, and lay bacon strip across the top.
  7. Serve immediately with a final stir.

Notes

Ensure all ingredients are cold for the best flavor. Stir vigorously to emulsify the beer cheese; if too thick, add a splash of tomato juice. For batches, mix the base (tomato juice, vodka, seasonings) in a pitcher and add beer cheese and beer to individual glasses just before serving to prevent separation and flat beer.
